About

I’ve always thought of myself as a trainer at heart.

I have a solid grasp of fundamental technology concepts, and while I don’t claim to be a master of everything, I’m naturally curious, willing to learn, and comfortable digging into unfamiliar territory when needed. Over the years, I’ve found that one of my strengths is making technology understandable for people who feel overwhelmed, intimidated, or simply frustrated by it.

For a long time, I helped family and friends with their technology problems informally — fixing issues, explaining what went wrong, and helping them feel more confident using their systems. Eventually, it made sense to formalize that work and offer it more broadly through MCG LLC.

How I Approach Technology

I’m careful about what I take on and how I work.

I’m not interested in large, long-term consulting contracts or traditional 9-to-5 engagements. I prefer smaller, clearly defined projects where I can help solve a problem, explain the solution, and leave things in better shape than I found them. That flexibility also allows me to work without locking clients — or myself — into rigid commitments.

I focus on the simpler, practical side of technology: the kind that people rely on every day and need to work reliably without becoming a constant source of stress. While I’m always learning, I’m also honest about my limits and have a good sense of what’s safe, appropriate, and realistic for a given situation.

What Clients Tend to Appreciate

People often thank me for two things:

  • Fixing the issue

  • Explaining it in a way that actually makes sense

My goal isn’t just to solve a problem once, but to help people understand what happened and feel more comfortable going forward. I try to be easy to work with, not pushy, and respectful of the fact that not everyone wants — or needs — deep technical detail.

If someone comes away thinking, “I understand my technology better now, and I don’t feel intimidated by it,” then I’ve done my job.
